Mediarata grant application period from 1 February to 14 March 2023

This year, AVEK’s Mediarata grant will again be awarded to projects promoting the production culture of media art. This time, a total of 173,000 euros will be distributed from the separate funding allocated by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Applications for the Mediarata grant can be submitted from 1 February to 14 March 2023 in AVEK’s application system. All applications must be in the system by 16:00 on the last day of the application period.

The grant decisions place particular emphasis on the quality of the applicant company’s activities in terms of substance and professionalism, as well as the continuity of the company’s media art production culture. Priority will be given to companies that have not previously received the grant.

The Mediarata grants aim to improve the operating conditions of the production companies and producers working in media art, promote the continuity of operations and boost the status of Finnish media art. The goal is also to facilitate international media art co-production and promote the professional and international distribution of media art. The applications will be reviewed by a group of experts, including AVEK’s Media Art Commissioner Milla Moilanen.
