“As the number of applications shows, a project like this is clearly needed. Authors from extremely varied backgrounds with different kinds of ideas for works signed up – just as we hoped,” says Film Commissioner Mikko Peltonen, AVEK.
As we stated in the call for applications, we may need to carry out a preselection to choose which authors will be included based on their motivation and experience.
We are hoping that more production companies will join
Many production companies have already expressed an interest in the project well in advance. We are now looking for even more production companies to join the project.
We ask all interested production companies to sign up via this link (in Finnish).
Networking event, sparring and support
We will hold a networking event for authors and production companies via remote connections in the afternoon on Tuesday 28 September.
Hopefully, as many authors as possible can find a production company that suits them through the networking event. When an author and a production company start their cooperation, we will grant selected works or projects €6,000 in development support. Applications for this support can be submitted after the networking event. We will provide more detailed instructions on how to apply at the networking event.
On a case-by-case basis, we also offer sparring assistance and advice for promoting works.
If a project that started with the project is within the scope of our grants, you can naturally also apply for support via AVEK’s normal application procedure.
