Our services for authors and publishers

We represent a large group of creative professionals, such as writers, visual artists, translators, actors, directors and journalists. We ensure that authors, performing artists and publishers receive proper compensation for the use of their works.

Kopiosto remunerations

We distribute copyright remunerations both directly to creative industries’ professionals and through our member organisations. Remunerations collected from the use of radio and TV programmes are primarily distributed as individual remunerations to the authors and performing artists of these programmes.

Remunerations for the copying of books, newspapers, magazines and works published online are distributed to our member organisations that forward them to authors and publishers in the form of various grants and awards, for instance.

Grant of Rights to Kopiosto and AV authors’ and performers’ copyright agreement

We collect authorisations from authors, performing artists and publishers with the Kopiosto Grant of Rights and the Copyright Agreement for audiovisual authors and performing artists. With these authorisations, we grant licences to the use of works by creative industries’ professionals on their behalf. In addition to over 80,000 Finnish authors, performing artists and publishers, we represent foreign creators based on our agreements with our sister organisations abroad.
