We serve as the licence-granting extended collective licence organisation approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture for magazine materials, photographs, ephemera, sheet music and visual and photographic works in literary works.
We represent the authors, photographers and publishers of visual works, magazines, sheet music, ephemera and works and other protected objects within them. Our extended collective licence covers the use of works by both Finnish and foreign authors and other copyright holders.
We pay the copyright remunerations collected from net usage licences to copyright holders.
Content of the licence
Our licence to cultural heritage institutions includes the following rights:
- manufacture of works and other protected objects within the collection, i.e. digitisation or other copying
- dissemination of copied works to the public
- transmission of copied works and other protected objects online on the website of the cultural heritage institute, for example, or relaying of work to the public in such a way that members of the public have access to the work at a place and time of their choice.
Licence price
The price of the licence is determined based on the scope of the digitised material and the number of objects uploaded online. An annual usage fee is paid for the transmission of digitalised objects to the public online.
