Let Kopiosto enforce your rights in AI development on your behalf

AI models are trained with huge amounts of data. The training material also includes copyrighted texts and images, the use of which has not been authorised by their authors or other copyright holders. On this page, we explain how Kopiosto can continue to enforce your rights as a creative worker in the age of artificial intelligence.

About the Grant of Rights to Kopiosto

Kopiosto sells licences and controls the use of works on the basis of authorisations from creative professionals, artists and publishers. Users of works receive a comprehensive licence from one source, while creative professionals receive the remunerations owed to them for the use of their works.

When you authorise Kopiosto, it will ensure that your copyrights are respected, your works are used with permission and you are paid for their use.

Kopiosto uses three different authorisation types: AV authors’ copyright agreement, AV Grant of Rights and Grant of Rights to Kopiosto. Authors who write for books, magazines and websites, or create images, provide authorisation through the Grant of Rights to Kopiosto. The Grant of Rights to Kopiosto applies to the printing, storing or copying of your texts and images published in printed products and online.

Licences from Kopiosto are purchased by educational institutions, public administration and businesses. Kopiosto then pays the remunerations collected under the Grant of Rights to its member organisations, which redistribute it to authors in their field as grants and other services.
