
Haanpää has been in her current role at the Association of Finnish Nonfiction Writers since 2019. Prior to that, she worked at the Trade Union of Education in Finland (OAJ) and Teosto, among others. By education, Haanpää is a lawyer, economist and master of education.
“Kopiosto is doing important work to promote the conditions for creative professionals,” says Haanpää. “With the advent of artificial intelligence and other new ways to use works, I feel that the importance of Kopiosto as an advocate for copyright holders is growing. I am grateful to have been chosen and to be part of the common cause of the creative industries.”
Haanpää will take up her position of trust as Kopiosto’s Chair of the Board from the beginning of 2026. She has been a member of the Board since 2020.

The Annual General Meeting also elected new members to the Board to replace the outgoing members. A fresh face on the Board will be Outi Mäkinen, Executive Director of the Finnish Playwrights and Screenwriters Guild (Finlands Dramatiker och Manusförfattare ry), from the beginning of next year.
Heikki Karjalainen, Director of the Finnish Publishers Association, Sakari Laiho, Executive Director of Finlands svenska författareförening Johanna Sandberg and Katri Soramäki, Executive Director of Grafia, were elected to the Board for a new two-year term. Ismo Huhtanen, Legal Director of the Finnish News Media Association, Karoliina Huovila, Executive Director of Teme, Elina Kuusikko, Managing Director of the Union of Finnish Actors, Jani Tanskanen, freelance journalist, and Vappu Verronen, Executive Director of the Society of Finnish Composers, will also continue on the Board.
