Prices of the copying licence by industry in 2026 and 2027
The prices of company licences will be increased to correspond to the latest research data on the copying and use of works.
In recent years, digital copying has increased across all industries in the private sector. Thanks to our extended licence, the opportunity to use works in AI application prompts will also bring significant added value to companies and other organisations. We have accounted for this change in copying behaviour by spreading the price increase over two phases, 2026 and 2027. You can find the prices for the next few years in the table below.
According to our research on copying, there is variation between industries in the amount of copying of copyrighted works and the use of such copies that takes place. This also applies to the copying of works for inclusion in AI application prompts. The variation in the amount of copying is reflected in the industry-specific price per employee/officer.
You can check the price of your company’s copying licence based on the company’s industrial classification.
Corporate customers choosing the continuous licence can purchase the copying licence at a lower annual price when compared to the fixed-term licence. The fixed-term licence will be available for the last time for 2026, after which only the continuous licence will be available.

*In the context of this copying licence arrangement, ‘officer’ refers to an employee who performs administrative work, office work, sales, managerial work and technical, scientific, legal or humanistic work.
Period of validity of the licence
The copying licence enters into force once you have paid the price indicated on the invoice to Kopiosto. The licence will remain valid for the period of time specified in the order or until you terminate it. However, the licence will always remain valid at least until the end of the calendar year (until 31 December). The licence applies to all copies you create in accordance with the licence terms. You can acquire either a continuous licence valid until further notice or a fixed-term licence. Any additional licences will remain valid for as long as your company has a valid copying licence.
Continuous licence
The most effortless way of acquiring a licence is to purchase a continuous subscription that will remain valid until further notice. This ensures that your licence will automatically continue one calendar year at a time. When the licence period changes, you can update the number of employees or officers covered by the licence in our licence store between 1 November and 31 January, if necessary. If the number of people is not updated, the licence will continue unchanged. You can terminate a continuous licence by doing so in writing at least one month before the start of the next calendar year, i.e. at the latest on 30 November.
A licence that is valid until further notice must be updated between 1 November and 31 January, if
- the company’s size category changes (the categories are 1–10, 11–30, 31–50 or more than 50 employees/officers)
- the licence has been acquired for a specific number of people exceeding 50 people, and the number of people in the company changes by more than 20 people from the previously reported number (number of employees or officers, depending on the industry).
If the company’s size category does not change or changes by less than 20 people, the licence will automatically continue as it is, covering the entire personnel.
Fixed-term annual licence (on sale for the last time for 2026)
The annual licence will remain valid for one calendar year. When the licence ends, you can order a new licence in our licence store by providing the information requested. We will send a reminder to our customers that their fixed-term licence is ending.
If you do not acquire a continuous licence or a new fixed-term licence, please remember to inform your staff that they can no longer copy any copyrighted material for work-related use.
Remember to also make sure that the company’s staff no longer have access to any previously copied materials, as per the licence terms. If you have acquired additional licences supplementary to the copying licence, also make sure that any materials copied under the additional licences have been removed in accordance with the licence terms for the additional licences.
Expiry or termination of a licence
Towards the end of the year, we will send a message to all our customers, reminding them of the expiry of their licence, the need to update the information about their number of personnel, the option to terminate and any changes to licence prices.
You can terminate a continuous licence by doing so in writing at least one month before the start of the next calendar year, i.e. at the latest on 30 November.
A fixed-term licence expires at the end of the calendar year unless you acquire a continuous licence or renew your fixed-term licence.
When your licence expires, remember to inform the staff of your company or organisation that they can no longer copy copyrighted material for work-related use. Remember to also make sure that your staff no longer have access to any previously copied materials.
The additional licences supplementary to the copying licence expire at the same time as the copying licence. If you have acquired additional licences supplementary to the copying licence, also make sure that any materials copied under the additional licences have been removed in accordance with the licence terms for the additional licences.
