Authorisations collected by Kopiosto

We collect authorisations from various creative professionals, performing artists and publishers. With the authorisation, you give Kopiosto the right to grant licences on your behalf for the use of your works. We ensure that your copyrights are respected and your works are used with permission.

Under the authorisations given to us, we represent a large group of creative industry professionals, such as writers, visual artists, translators, actors, editors and directors. In addition to over 100,000 Finnish authors, performing artists and publishers, we represent foreign creators based on our agreements with our sister organisations abroad.

These authorisations form the basis for our operations, alongside the system of extended collective licences that is based on the Copyright Act.

AV authorisations given by authors and performing artists of TV programmes

As an author of TV programmes or a performing artist, you can give an authorisation with the Copyright Agreement for Audiovisual Authors or the Grant of Rights for Audiovisual Authors. This authorisation applies to the secondary use of audiovisual works, such as the recording of TV programmes at home and in educational institutions and the use of programmes for teaching purposes.

Authorisations given by authors of texts and images

Through a Grant of Rights to Kopiosto, you, as an author of texts and images, authorise us to grant licences on your behalf for the copying of your works for teaching purposes, for instance. We look after your rights with regard to the copying of your works and represent your interests.
